NoahGuy (Pty) Ltd (“NoahGuy”, “we”, “us”) runs noahguy.co.za, an online directory that connects people in South Africa with tradespeople. We take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what rights you have.

1. Who is responsible

NoahGuy (Pty) Ltd is the “responsible party” under POPIA. Our Information Officer can be contacted at support@noahguy.co.za.

2. What we collect

• Account details: your name, username, email address, phone number and password (stored in encrypted form).
• Provider listing information: business name, trade category, description, services, areas served, address and map location, phone, email, website, social links, opening hours and images. This is published on the Site so that customers can find you.
• Billing information: your billing name and contact details, the plan you bought, order and payment history. When you pay by card, the payment is processed by Paystack. We receive a secure token that lets us charge your card for renewals, plus the card brand and last four digits. We never see or store your full card number or CVV.
• Messages and support: enquiries sent through the contact form, live chat or email, and the emails we send you.
• Technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and cookies needed to run the Site (for example, to keep you logged in and remember your cart).

3. Why we use it

• To create and manage your account and publish and review listings.
• To process payments and renewals, send receipts and reminders, and manage unpaid subscriptions.
• To let visitors find and contact Providers.
• To answer your questions and give support.
• To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and spam, and meet legal obligations.
• To send service emails about your account and listing. We will only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run NoahGuy, and only as needed:

• Paystack for card payments and subscription renewals;
• Google for maps, location search and our email service;
• Our website hosting and email delivery providers;
• Our live chat and customer support tools; and
• authorities or professional advisers where the law requires it.

Some of these providers are outside South Africa. When that happens we rely on providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.

5. Information you make public

Everything you put in a listing, and any review you post, is visible to the public and may be indexed by search engines. Please do not include information you do not want shared.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and listing information while your account is active. Billing and order records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes. When information is no longer needed we delete it or make it anonymous.

7. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and secure payment processing, to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so if we become aware of a breach affecting you we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

8. Cookies

The Site uses cookies that are needed for it to work (login, cart and checkout) and to remember your preferences. Third-party tools such as Google Maps and our live chat may also set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Site may then not work properly.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct or update information that is wrong;
• delete or restrict information we no longer need or are not entitled to keep; and
• stop using your information for direct marketing, or object to other processing.

Email support@noahguy.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

10. Children

NoahGuy is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change we will let account holders know by email.
